2018 Dr. Pepper Texas Rangers Awards Dinner at Gilley's

Updated: Jul 13, 2018

Our Director of Community Outreach and Client Relations, Gina Alley, attended this year's Dr Pepper Texas Rangers Awards Dinner at Gilley's in Dallas this past Friday. The event honors the 2017 Texas Rangers Major and Minor League Award Winners. Net proceeds will benefit the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

Among the honorees will be shortstop Elvis Andrus, who was announced as the Texas Rangers 2017 Player of the Year in voting conducted by the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

This is the first Rangers Player of the Year honor for Andrus and the first for a Texas shortstop since Michael Young in 2007. Andrus batted .297 with career highs for runs (100), hits (191), doubles (44), homers (22), and RBI (88) in 158 games in 2017. He ranked among the A.L. leaders in hits (3rd), doubles (T4th), games (T6th), and runs (T7th) and was a finalist for the A.L. Rawlings Gold Glove at shortstop.

Other award recipients include the Rangers' 2017 Pitcher and Rookie of the Year, the Harold McKinney Good Guy Award, and the Richard Durrett Hardest Working Man Award.
